Most recently I’ve been obsessed with the spontaneity and playfulness of ink paintings. I love watching the ink negotiate a path on the wet arches paper expanding outward.  My ink paintings framed in walnut depict the tension between tension and release, chaos vs.  order and the control or lack thereof that one has.  The contrast between the spontaneous ink painting with the control of the rigid borders are hard to ignore. This war between chaos and order and our constant struggle to balance these is inherent in all of my work.
